Sellers are probably used to Amazon’s annual fulfillment fees changes. Amazon recently made an announcement that these new rates will change in Q1 (February 22, 2018) for orders fulfilled by Amazon. These fulfillment fees will be adjusted as follows:
- New fulfillment fees for most product size tiers and weights will apply throughout the year, and Amazon no longer have a separate rate for October through December.
- Dimensional weight calculation is adjusted to align with current industry standards. The dimensional weight is calculated as the unit volume (based on length x width x height in inches) divided by 139 instead of 166. Keep in mind that the dimensional weight calculation is only applicable for large standard-size items weighing more than 1lb. and all small, medium, and large oversize items.
Seeing that both fulfillment and product weight fees have increased, storage fees are also bound to increase. For full detailed fees changes, please read Amazon’s latest article HERE and reevaluate your options strategically.
