Post-Sale Emails To Turn New Customers Into Lifetime Fans
To this day, email marketing is still considered as one of the best ROI of any marketing channel. No printing costs, no postage fees, no advertising rates; email marketing is as affordable as marketing gets. And not only does email marketing work great as a sales channel, it can also help you build customer relationships after you have made that sale to increase customer retention.
Earlier in March this year, Amazon allowed shoppers to opt out of marketing emails sending sellers into panic. However, you can still send messages to customers who have not opted out and offer great customer service through follow-up emails and also encourage feedback.
Here are a few Dos and Don’ts when writing your emails:
- DO ensure there are no spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in your email. You don’t want your customers to feel like they are reading an article written by kids.
- DO include your business’s personality in the email. For instance, if you are selling toys, express your email in a fun and exciting way.
- DO include a bonus gift as a token of appreciation. For instance, if you are selling yoga products, you can include a photo with yoga poses and exercises in the email as a bonus gift.
- DON’T sound salesy in the email. You are sending out your genuine gratitude and not trying to promote your business.
- DON’T delay sending out your thank you emails. Send it out within 24-48 hours of the purchase when customers are most excited about it.
- DON’T be too anxious trying to find the perfect wording or phrase. A thank you email should be simple and sincere.
Here are 5 types of emails you can send out to turn more of your new customers into raving fans of your brand.
(1) Thank You Emails
The fundamentals of building superb customer relationship is to say “Thank You”. Customers expect a simple confirmation and thank you email whenever a purchase is made. To stand out from the crowd, you can inject your personality into your emails so you get higher open rates.
You could also provide additional bonus whenever customers made a purchase. For instance if you are selling a kitchen scale, you can include a free recipe book for each purchase, or even a variety of Do-You-Know postcards. Let your creative juice flow and surprise your customers.

(2) Order Confirmation Emails
Whenever we make a purchase online and finalize the transaction, what’s the next thing on our minds? That’s right, we want to know if our order is confirmed and shipped. Similar to your customers, they want to know when the order is confirmed and being shipped.
This is a great way to build rapport with your customers. You only want to inform them that the order is being shipped and should they have any inquiries regarding the shipment, they can contact you. Thankfully, Amazon takes care of this for us! However, should you be selling on your own website, you need to take this into consideration.
(3) How-To Information Emails
One of the worst things you can do is assume that your customers know how to use your products. That’s why you need to inform them on how to make the most out of your products.

(4) Feedback Emails
Customer feedback is vital for you to gain actionable insight on how to improve your products and purchasing experience. Feedback emails is also one of the best ways to measure customer satisfaction. You can request happy customers to express their satisfaction by writing a product or seller’s review. On the other hand, you can try to mitigate risk of receiving bad reviews from unsatisfied customers by providing necessary measurements to resolve the issue.
(5) Surprise Emails
Who doesn’t love a surprise? There are plenty of ways you can offer a surprise to loyal customers who have been buying from you for an extensive period or actively promoting your product on social media. You can reward them by sending a surprise email with a discount coupon, a free gift, or any other rewards.

Amazon Moving into The Cryptocurrency World?
Amazon has registered three new cryptocurrency-related domains, according to trade publication DomainNameWire. This has sparked speculation that the e-commerce behemoth could be preparing a move into the cryptocurrency space which isn’t a surprise since Amazon’s plan is world domination. The domains bought were:
Bitcoin and Ethereum market caps are soaring high and will continue to grow. There have also been some rumors of Amazon will eventually accept cryptocurrencies, like bitcoin and ethereum, but the company has never acknowledged these plans for now. Amazon Pay’s VP Patrick Gauthier told CNBC that Amazon had no plans to accept cryptocurrency due to the lack of demand at this stage, and Amazon may simply be protecting its brand name.
These rumors could also be one of the reasons that drove up these cryptocurrencies. Only time will tell if Amazon will move into the cryptocurrency world and I firmly believe this will happen in the near future where customers are able to make payments using Bitcoin, Ethereum, other cryptocurrencies.
